Welcome!
International Social Housing Festival 2022 will take place in Helsinki, Finland, on June 14–17. The festival highlights the role of social, public and co-operative housing in achieving socially and ecologically sustainable living in our cities now and in the future. Asuntosäätiö has a presentation in the festival on the 15th of June.
From 1990’s to 2020’s in three weeks
The production of right-of-occupancy apartments was at its peak in the 1990s, which is why most of our properties are now in need of renovations. We need to reduce number of individual maintenance and repairs that are often found in older homes. We also need to extend the service life of the property as well as to improve the energy efficiency and economy of the property.
As the comfort of our residents and the excellent condition of our properties is important to us, we have launched extensive renovations, also known as reform renovations.
What happens in a reform renovation?
In a reform renovation, the apartment is completely renovated, with the exception of painting the walls and ceiling. Examples of measures included in the renovation:
• replacing kitchen furnishings and appliances
• renovating any wet rooms, in other words the washroom, separate bathroom and sauna, including their furnishings
• installing laminates on the floors and replacing interior doors and door frames.
We will also carry out any necessary repairs to the roofing, facades, outdoor areas and staircases according to the needs of each property.
How do we renovate apartments from 1990’s to 2020’s in just three weeks?
You are welcome to hear more about how reform renovations improve the comfort of living in right-of-occupancy apartments. Our event on the 15th of June is organized together with Helsinki City Housing Company (Heka).
