Asuntosäätiö’s sustainability programme
Sustainability and responsibility are at the heart of everything we do and embedded in our core values. As a non-profit organisation, we do not aim to maximise short-term financial returns. Our non-profit operations provide the foundation for our meaningful and responsible work. We operate with integrity, reliability, and environmental responsibility.
Asuntosäätiö’s sustainability programme brings together our key sustainability themes and guides our sustainability work based on the expectations of our stakeholders. The programme is built around three themes, all connected by our original mission: A good home for everyone.
We have linked each theme with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which we are committed to supporting.

People’s well-being
We care about people. Our residents and employees feel well and enjoy staying with us.
We provide homes for different stages of life. Together with our residents, we develop pleasant and safe living environments and housing that supports wellbeing and happiness. We take care of our employees’ well-being and safety and support the development of their skills.
Meaningful work and job satisfaction form the foundation of excellent customer experience. We treat everyone equally and promote diversity in all our operations.
Sustainable homes
We take care of homes and enable sustainable everyday living.
Energy consumption in housing, together with the construction and renovation of homes, accounts for the majority of our climate impacts. We reduce energy consumption in our properties by increasing the share of renewable energy and by carrying out renovations in a systematic and proactive manner. Our goal is to significantly reduce the emissions generated by our operations by 2035.
We strengthen the circular economy and biodiversity through our operations. We also support our residents in making sustainable choices in their housing and everyday lives.
Affordable housing
We create long-term conditions for affordable housing.
We actively promote the realisation of fair and just housing in Finland and provide affordable homes. Through efficient and competitive operations, we maintain high occupancy rates and help keep housing costs at a reasonable level.
We operate ethically and require the same from our partners. We work openly with our stakeholders to promote good housing and fair business practices.
